SoCO Ongoing Project
The Medical Missions Project, 2019.
“And Jesus answering said unto them, ‘They that are whole have no need of a physician; but they that are sick.” (Luke 5:31)
The state of medical care in developing countries is a global concern. The core purpose of SoCCO’s Medical Mission is to provide healthcare, healing, and hope to the world’s sick, suffering and needy.
SoCCO’s aim is to implement medical mission trips to attend to the medical, dental and surgical needs of vulnerable people living in deprived nations worldwide. Our trips will provide the opportunity to identify and offer the different levels of care – from the definitive to the supportive – for a wide variety of medical conditions. We will also provide extensive community-health education and as well as conducting vaccination clinics. We will diagnose chronic hypertension and diabetes and provide medical equipment and supplies, medicines and vitamins suited to the local need.
SoCCO will accomplish this by recruiting qualified medical teams and offering short-term assignments for volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists and other healthcare professionals as well as non-medical volunteers, to conduct overseas medical mobile-clinics in areas where healthcare is limited and difficult to obtain. Many people in remote villages, especially the aged, have difficulty getting to clinics and in these cases, we will conduct house calls.
Equipment, supplies and medicines for these missions are secured from donations through partnerships with other organizations.
With your support, we can make a concerted effort toward providing quality healthcare programs and services, without discrimination, to people in need worldwide.
