SoCCO Testimonials

God will remember you as He remembered me.
God will remember you as He remembered me.

My name is Testimony, I was an Ex-Convict at Medium Security Prison in Lagos State, Nigeria and I spent seven years in prison. I’m here to thank God and express my gratitude for using Seed of Compassion Community Outreach (SoCCO) for the love and kindness they showed me while I was in prison. They visited me and other inmates. They  bought mostly everything we needed to survive in that prison including Bibles, Food Stuff, gave money for medical, gave money to attend court hearings and examinations. Whenever they visit, they always shared the word of hope and interacted with us. Seed of Compassion made us felt alive and hopeful again with their act of kindness and demonstration of God’s love. When I came out from prison in 2013, I was privileged to meet Pastor (Mrs) Olagunju, the founder of Seed of Compassion Community Outreach in Lagos. At first, she didn’t recognize me but I introduced myself to her and since that day she became a mother I’ve never had and Seed of Compassion Outreach became a family that has always been there for me. I reached out to them whenever I needed help and they have never been tired of me. I decided to make a difference too and I started reaching out to people most especially the youth. When I planned my first programme, I told Pastor (Mrs) Olagunju and she said go ahead and work on it. Afterwards, she and her team supported me and the program was massive and very successful. Many people gave their lives to Christ, it was unbelievable.
I must say that a lot of people were not as receptive of my vision to launch the Programme initially. Some Churches did not want to associate themselves with me because of my past. However, once I told them that SoCCO & Pastor (Mrs) Olagunju was involved, they changed their opinion of me. After the program, I told Pastor (Mrs) Olagunju that I’m getting married and she gave me a cheque and blessed me. I got married and Seed of Compassion have been there for me even after I later lost my job, they still supported me; they gave me money and a land to start my farming. I’ve started it and it’s doing well all to the glory of God. I want to thank God for what He’s using Seed of Compassion Outreach to do in many people’s lives including myself and my family. I pray that God will continue to bless every member of Seed of Compassion, the Partners and all the Sponsors and reward them bountifully, amen. If your story is like mine or worse, please don’t lose hope. God will remember you as He remembered me. Praise God

Friends, please celebrate with us, God did it again! If you know how hard it is to make people in the ghetto attend life-changing events such as this or if you know what it means to organise events in a ghetto without "area boys" coming to disorganise things, then you will understand what this shout out to Seed of Compassion Community Outreach meant. There is no better way to celebrate this Easter season than to extend God's love to humanity. Wow! I am amazed at what God can do! He keeps exceeding our expectations. Seed of Compassion Community Outreach hosted the Ilaje community. We sang; we prayed, we danced, and above all, we heard the undiluted WORD of God. We also had enough different and raw foodstuffs for every attendee to take home. We gave out sanitary pads to teenagers and mothers, enough to last them for the next few months. There was more than enough for everyone who attended the event. Indeed, I can now say it without mincing words that of all the NGOs that has ever been to Ilaje for outreach, none, and I mean none has ever done it the way Seed of Compassion Community Outreach does it. Guess what, we also gave out clothes, shoes, and bags to some of the attendees. I mean, all the people that came went home happy and rejoicing. Thank you so much to all the wonderful volunteers, sponsors, partners, directors and convener of this event.

I am Ugoma Johnson, reporting live from Ilaje.

This is Benin Republic. The Seed of Compassion Community Outreach (SoCCO) came around to see the farmland that water has taken over, turning it to a river. SoCCO supported the farmers by supplying them with pipe holes to drain the waters from their farmland, so they can continue their farming. The Farmers say thank you to all Sponsors and Partners. God Bless you..

I’m seeing myself at the top by the Grace of God.
I’m seeing myself at the top by the Grace of God.

“My name is JayJay, I was an ex-convict and I spent 21 years in prison. Initially I was sentenced to death by hanging but the Grace of God brought me this far and I was set free in June 2017. I am here to thank God for giving me the privilege to take attend the Skills Acquisition and Empowerment seminar organised by Seed of Compassion Community Outreach. While I was in prison, I was determined that I will make positive impact if I’m opportune to be set free. Eventually I was set free and as soon as I came out of the prison, I decided to rehabilitate and improve myself. I heard about the good works of this charity and I attended the program they put together to empower people like me. I can confidently say with what I have witnessed today that God has made them the “hope for the hopeless.” I learnt and gained a lot today. Part of it was the soap making, perfume, germicide and many more. I strongly believe that by the special grace of God with what I have learnt today through the help of Seed of Compassion Community Outreach mission, that I will rise again and excel in life because right now, I’m seeing myself at the top by the Grace of God.”

“My name is JBW, I’m an ex-convict of Medium Security Kirikiri Prison, Apapa, Lagos. I attended the Skills Acquisition and Empowerment organised by Seed of Compassion Community Outreach because I want to start doing something meaningful in my life and I don’t regret ever attending the seminar, because they made it possible for me to start a new life. I’m really happy that I attended this program and I can say that I learned a lot. Once again, I want to appreciate Seed of Compassion Community Outreach Mission for their love and care towards the forgotten and hopeless. Right now, I’m seeing myself as a millionaire by the Grace of God.”
