GOD KNOWS WHAT YOU NEED

A couple who was planning and preparing for their wedding party needed a cow to complete the plans for their wonderful day, however, the help they needed was not forthcoming. They had run out of money and the day of the wedding was fast approaching. Then the bride-to-be looked up to heaven and said ‘God but it has been said that the cattle on a thousand hills belong to you,’ (Psalm 50:10) why don’t you just send one to us out of the thousands. The next day someone gave her a call asking her to come for a cow. Of a truth as Billy Graham puts it, “Heaven is full of answers to prayers for which no one ever bothered to ask”. What you can see, is what you will possess, so see something and you will get it, see nothing and guess what? Yes, you guessed right – you get a big fat juicy nothing! Also, take note that if you view situations around you from the wrong perspective, you will always be fearful. Your attitude towards an issue will determine how successfully you will handle it. Many people quit when they should instead persist in their demands. You are destined to ask and receive, you must be unrelenting and sober-minded - Don’t throw in the towel too soon – the fight ain't over yet! Human nature readily prefers to have prayers answered on the spot - instantly. However, we should be mindful that God is not an ATM where you insert your card, followed by your PIN and just receive cash even though you have no money in the account. You can only make withdrawals where you have sufficient cash deposits or an overdraft facility on the account. With God don’t be surprised that you have to wait in some cases before you get a result and He always has a reason for directing you to the waiting room. Please know that your attitude whilst waiting is crucial too, be sure to adopt the mindset of worship during this period. Alternatively, God sometimes answers prayers instantaneously too or even before you open your mouth to ask, it’s His prerogative – that’s why He is God. Dear reader, this passage of scripture is noteworthy for meditation – “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord.  “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT). You may never know God is all you need until God is all you have.
