HOW TO STOP WORRYING

In one of our outreaches (Seed of Compassion Outreach), we had a challenge. The numbers outweighed what we had available at the moment. It got me worried. I was panicking already, almost in tears. I couldn't rest.

Then I told one of my team members about it, and his response was surprising. He didn't even behave as if he understood what I was saying. And he said "the best thing to do is to pray, worrying won't solve anything. I'm hopeful that everyone will take something home from this place today."

Those were his words. As simple as this may look, no one was left out. Our gift items went round everyone who were present, and this has taught me so many lessons since then, especially about patience and prayer.

Most often than not, as Christians when we are confronted with ugly situations, like financial breakdown, distress, family problems, or failed marriage, we tend to worry and forget that there's an all loving father who is always there to hear us.

I so much love this quote from a revered author, "If there's a man to pray, there's a God to answer."

Let's see what the Bible says about this.

In Matthew 6:25;28-34, the Bible tells us to not worry about tomorrow, or what we would eat, drink or wear.

We are reassured that if God takes care of the birds of the air, and clothe the grass of the field, He will clothe you. It went further to say " For your heavenly father knows that you need them all."

God knows what you need, but He never asked you to worry.

In Philippians 4:6-7, the Bible says;

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

This is what we should hold unto as children of God. All you have to do is to present your requests to God, He hears you!

The Bible says cast all your cares (worries) on him, for He cares for you.

All you need to do in times of adversity, when things seem to be falling apart, or when your plans are not going accordingly is to cast your cares on the One who cares for you.

I don't know what you're going through at the moment, I don't know why you've been having sleepless nights but I'm inviting you this day to call on your Father. He never forsakes you. He wants you to come to Him.

Many of you do not plan to worry each time a problem arises, but you just find yourself worrying. Receive grace to stand firm and make your requests known to God.

I pray for grace to be able to totally lay aside your worries and go to God.

I pray for you this week, you are highly favored and blessed.

May the hand of the Lord rest upon you and all that is connected to you.

Selah!
