To help you understand the principle of intrinsic value, here is an experiment that will explain this statement of value to us better than anything else is. Do you have any cash in the form of notes as you read this page? If you do, please bring it out and carefully carry out the following instructions: 1). Squeeze it very tightly into a ball 2). Rumple it underneath your feet, with or without your shoes on 3). Pick it up and try to straighten it with your hand. To go a bit further, do the following: 4). Throw it inside water, bring it out, and wait for it to dry up. 5). Go an extra mile; try to tear a bit of it, or even into two equal parts. 6). Get an adhesive tape and join the two equal halves together. 7). Then, confidently go into a shop, pick an item from the shelf. 8). Go to the pay-point and pay with that same cash-note you have dealt mercilessly with. To your surprise and amazement, the cashier will gladly or indifferently receive it from you, and you will walk boldly out of the shop without any harassment. Undoubtedly, this will sound very strange; in particular, if it has never occurred to you that a cash-note cannot lose its value no matter what is done to it. With all the negative torture carried out on the currency bill/note, it retains the same value that it had when it was first printed. By the way, so do you! Have you been battered by all kinds of accusations from left, right and centre? Without question, the most painful experiences come from unexpected angles. Have you been tortured, despised, rejected, neglected and abandoned? Are you being haunted by false accusations from people? Even if it was not a false charge against you, and you were actually caught in the very act, you are still valuable.

You are not only valuable to God, but valuable to yourself, and to the people God is sending you to. No matter what you have been through in the past, let it remain in the past. Today is a new day and something good is about to happen to you. No matter how squeezed you are, irrespective of how rumpled you have been in the past, I want to let you know that you are still valuable. In fact your value is great. Jesus Christ already paid the price for your errors when He died for you on the cross of Calvary. The only price you now need to pay is to accept His love for you. His love is waiting desperately for you and wants to embrace you. He wants to refresh, renew and restore your value. Do not allow the lies of the world to keep you in the dark. You are a child of Light, and your Father dispels all darkness. Stop standing in the dark and stop putting your destiny in a place of reproach. Get yourself into the place of brightness and hope. One thing you should not allow the enemy to steal from you is your hope. Hope can be very crucial and powerful if channelled correctly. With it, you can overcome any mountain. Your hope should not be placed in any man, because people are mere flesh who can choose to become petty and moody and can easily change their minds about you; singing “Hosanna!” today, “Crucify him!” tomorrow. People are unstable and very inconsistent by virtue of human nature, but you belong to a Father who is stronger than a rock; immovable and steadfast. Therefore, if you belong to Jesus, you must strive to be like Him. You should work to resemble Him in all aspects of your life as you seek to remain steadfast and unmoved. 

Remember that you are destined to add value to life. Henceforth, I challenge you to begin to value yourself even if no one else values you. Regardless of the opinions and conclusions others make about you, believe: 

You have worth!

You are redeemed!

You cannot be ignored!

You are very expensive!

You are a crown of glory!

You are a sought after!

You are a voice not an echo!

You are unique and special!

Creation is incomplete without you!

You are precious and honoured in God’s sight!

You are a significant being in God’s kingdom on earth!
